Frances McDormand is now a two-time Academy Award winner, won her second Oscar in over 20 years. The Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri star won for Best Actress on Sunday, March 4, 2018. She expressed her gratitude for her tribe believing in her and she invited other women from every category to stand with her. McDormand found her passion, followed it, persevered and honed her craft along the way.

What have you wanted for over 5 years? You do not have to be quiet any longer. 

At the Golden Globes, Frances McDormand said, "Many of you know I keep my politics private, but it was really great to be in this room tonight and to be a part of the tectonic shift in our industry's power structure" regarding the Time's Up initiative. "Trust me, the women in this room tonight are not here for the food. We are here for the work."

She made a similar sentiment when she accepted her Screen Actors Guild honor, saying, "I come out of the woods every few years, and you invite me to the party. But there are a lot of young ones comin' up and they need doorstops, too. Let's think about that.”

I too have had a dream to bring strategic solutions to awaken women to their potential and to provide the resources and tools to make that potential come to fruition. We at the SMART Women’s Movement offer online courses, workshops, and curriculum created by women for women. We know how women think, how women learn and the many competing priorities to capture women’s attention.  

What have you dreamed about, thought about, and worked for? 

Stay strong and committed to what is important to you. Sometimes we have to wait for the timing to be right. Other times we keep trying: and we meet the right person, we are physically and emotionally prepared to win, or we have the messaging that resonates with the right clients. I strongly encourage you to keep growing, learning and reaching for your dreams. Be prepared for when opportunities come your way. We are capable of extreme success.
